Hi all,
We are very close to the preview and just completed another major milestone. We know it's a bit later than announced for the preview, but rest assured we are only days away now.

We've taken significant steps forward, and, as mentioned in my last post, we started with the mail section.

We added a different UI to the frankly boring way many companies view email and added many valuable views.

In short, you, as a user of Helpmonks, can create your very own view of emails that are of interest to you. So instead of having the classic view (think Gmail or Outlook), you can create "sections" and "tabs." For instance, a section could be all-new emails, another section only emails that are assigned to a specific user(s), or another section with emails that have certain labels only.

A brand new tab is "Flow" which will show a preview of the email in a constant scrollable flow. Not only that, but you can also reply, add a note, and more directly from that "flow." Of course, the "Classic" view, as we all know, is still available.

As a fact, we just finished integrating all actions on an email, i.e., assignment, labeling, etc. We are now working on some other core functions for emails and the split views and settings.

That said, while I certainly could share a video or screenshots, it might be more confusing right now without a proper introduction (don't worry, it's not so different) :) However, I still feel that one needs an appropriate introduction to everything before I feel comfortable sharing it with a broader audience.

We are also working on a new website, a preview site, and introduction walk-throughs. We should be able to show more and invite everyone to a preview in about 1-2 weeks (no guarantees).

We have several mailboxes, for example one for the UK and one for Ireland.
We have also created a user group and a work group to group these 2 mailboxes together, as the language spoken by the customers is the same.
However, we can't choose the saved replies that do work in the separate mailboxes.
Is this a bug, or a feature request?

Hello all,
Just a quick update on the progress here.
The last few weeks we have been steadily working on the re-design, and while this is a major re-factoring job (we re-design really everything), we see that we hit major milestones almost weekly.
Hence, we are confident that we can provide a preview in 6-8 weeks.

Hi Ian,
As you might have seen, we've changed the status from "planning" to "in progress" four days ago, i.e., we are now actively working on adding the new design.

After working with the new design framework and on the implementation, I can see that we make steady progress, and some parts are easier to change than we thought.

That said, I wish I could provide an ETA for when it's ready, but I can't. My estimate is that we'll have re-designed most parts in four-six weeks. We are making some major design changes, especially on how to work with emails, and we don't want to take this lightly or rush it.

As soon, as we have a working stage for you, we will make it available so you can switch to it, i.e., just like we did with the new reports recently.

Based on your feedback, we've prioritized the "double click" so messages open in a new browser window (another option is to ctrl+click on a message to open in a new tab) Can that suffice for the moment, or is there some pressing matter?

when you click ''reply'' to a mail with CC contacts, the default setting is to do a ''reply all'' , could we change this to a simple ''reply'' of have a dropdown so we can select which one to use?
we often receive mails with a lot of CC contacts, who in fact have nothing to do with that email or with our reply...

We have no ETA yet. As you can imagine, a re-design is quite a large undertaking and we also need to keep our customers in the loop. Also, we want to create a preview so customers can preview the whole process.

We do have wireframes and static previews that I'll be happy to share with you so you and your team can see what is coming. If you want that, we can set up a meeting.

Is there a way we can click into a email where we can get a preview of the email while still being in the inbox?

Hi,

At the moment there is no preview like this, however you can right-click on a message and then select to view the email in a preview window (see screenshot).

That said, we are planning a total re-design of Helpmonks. That re-design will include a preview option, i.e., a three-pane view. There is a "request" on here, and I encourage you to follow that to stay up-to-date (updates.helpmonks.com/b/feature-requests/re-design/)
